Why Creative Writing?

For women only - just because

Gilead: write to healMuch has been written about the therapeutic effects of writing, in particular, journaling. Nothing brings a fresher and healthier perspective to situations and life in general than writing about it in your own words. Some people prefer to do this online via blogs while others prefer it old style - with pen and paper. Seeing our thoughts, emotions and experiences on paper (or computer screen) brings with it a distinct sense of relief (for some) and freedom (for others) that is usually accompanied by genuine reflection and ample tools for making healthy decisions. And that is the premise of writing therapy.

Gilead: write to heal is a meditation-based writing workshop. In a sensitive and confidential environment, using writing styles such as journaling, inspirational and fiction writing, the workshop enables participants to express themselves and meditate via writing. No writing experience is required as the emphasis is on using writing as a form of expression and meditation.

Gilead: write to heal is not meant to take the place of conventional therapy. It is meant to complement it. And it is available to anyone who will like to use writing as a means of reflection and meditation.

For businesses - because there's more to life than the office

And for every office worker who has ever had to endure hours of mountaineering with the boss on away days or Powerpoint presentations on teambuilding, here's a fun alternative; creative writing for business. Participants spend the whole day exploring different kinds of creative writing and at the end of it, role-play the pieces they’ve written, produced and directed themselves on the day. This event encourages the team to work together and appreciate each other’s creativity. No writing experience is required, just an open mind and the willingness to laugh at one's self.
