Of course, not every woman will deal with all the issues tackled in the book. However, all women, will, at one point or the other deal with any one of them. For example, which married woman hasn’t experienced seasons of loneliness (cue Leah’s chapter)? Who hasn’t run the ‘single’ gauntlet? And which family hasn’t experienced strife (a la Eve’s)? And who hasn’t looked back and seen a life of disappointment behind and ahead of them (Michal)?

The truth of the matter is that all the women featured in God has daughters too had dreams much like you and I. However, somewhere along the line, for one reason or the other, those dreams became ashes. My book shows how God made beauty through the ashes of these women’s dreams. Of course, not all the women triumph. Michal comes to mind. She’s often painted as a miserable git. However, she was not always like that. She was once a young girl with her life ahead of her and I doubt she ever thought she would witness the level of violence and bloodshed that she encountered in her life.

I, just like a lot of people, struggle with my faith. There are times I want to quit. I have quit many times, only to return again and again. In time, I have learnt that it is in the struggle, the trials and tribulations, that the faith is sharpened and strengthened, much like a marriage.

God has daughters too is my attempt to make sense of my faith and what it says to me as a woman. I had a blast writing it, letting my imagination run away with me, as I attempted to make sense of the women's lives and in the process, understand mine in this crazy, crazy world we live in.
