Screenwriting
Right. Major difference between a screenplay and novel. The former is visual and the latter leaves the visuals to the reader.
Oh God! Why did I start this screenwriting malarkey?! I must've been nuts and I am nowhere near even starting the project yet. Been busy getting the screenwriting feel rather than actually writing a screenplay.
This weekend, I'm going to choose the stories from God has daughters too that I'll turn into screenplays, print out past television and movie screenplays from SimplyScripts, and dig out my 12 year old copy of Chaucer's Canterbury Tales.
It's the BBC's fault. Ever since they'd screened the modern reworking of the Canterbury Tales, I've been obsessed with doing the same for God has Daughters Too. And just as they brought the Tales into the 21st century, so I'm doing the same for my book. First off is Eve: The Sin Bringer. Her story will probably be written as an apocalyptic one. Gomer's story will definitely feature in the screenplays and Leah's. Not because I want to, but because everybody that's read the book are humbled by her story. Greatest challenge? How will God 'speak' through the screenplays? I'm also looking at this as a television series so each story has to last about 55 mins. That's 55 pages in screenspeak - as a screenpage roughly equal a screen minute. Thankfully, our beloved BBC has got some answers to these and other questions.
My screenwriting friend and film director has launched his website www.inspirefilmmedia.com/areaboys and the blog attached to the film www.areaboys.blogspot.com. Please support him in every way you can.
PS: you can see photos of him sunbathing on the blog. If you don't do anything else, at least check out the photos.
